He died 16 Mar 1934 in Winchester, Lewis, Idaho and was buried 1934 in Twin Falls Cem., Twin Falls, Twin Falls, Idaho. George married **Hannah Elizabeth LANGSTON, daughter of Martin LANGSTON and Mariah GALLOWAY on 4 Jan 1866 in Stone County, Missouri. Hannah was born 1 Dec 1842 in Taney, Missouri. She died 23 Mar 1912 in Buhl, Twin Falls, Idaho. MILITARY: George Reeves King, in an autobiography written when he was 71 years of age, states he enlisted in the Union Army first in April 1861, second on 20 June 1861 and third on 10 May 1862. He also states that he was discharged 27 August 1865 and arrived back home 1 September 1865. 1990 Special Schedule of Suviving Soldiers, etc. gives enlisted as Sgt., Co. D, Missouri Home Guards on 6 June 1861 and discharged on 15 Nov 1861, length of service 5 months/10 days. Enlisted as Captain in 1st. Reg. Arkansas Cavalry on 10 May 1862 and discharged on 27 Aug 1865, length of service 3 yrs., 3 mo., 17 days. He joined the Masons at Fayetville, Arkansas in the summer of 1863. Later became a member of that order in Cassville, Missouri. Never joined any lodge in the west. >From "History of Barry County, Missouri", pub. by Goodspeed, 1888; pages 172-173. FHL film 962184: "Hon. George R. King, a prominent farmer and stock raiser of Barry County, Mo., is a native of the county, born in 1842. He is a son of George W. and Caroline (Stubblefield) King, natives of Ohio. George W. King was born in 1812, and was a farmer and blacksmith. He and wife came to Missouri about 1832, locating in Barry County, where they both died, Mrs. King in 1844 and Mr. King in 1862. They were the parents of five children, of whom George R. is the fourth. He was reared on his father's farm, and received a common-school education. In 1866 he was united in marriage with Elizabeth Langston, who was born in 1842. Her parents immigrated to Missouri from Indiana. To Mr. and Mrs. King have been born five children, viz: Grant, Rebecca, Charles, Ida and Susan. In 1868 Mr. King was elected to the Legislature from Stone County, Missouri, and in 1870 removed to Barry County. His ability as a legislator being recognized, he was elected in 1876 to represent Barry County in the Legislature. For the last five years he has served as a deacon in the Christian Church. In 1862 he enlisted in the Federal army, as a private, and in the same year was promoted to second lieutenant, and later was commissioned as captain of the First Arkansas Cavalry, the first Union regiment organized in the state. " In March of 1870, George and Hannah moved from Stone County, Missouri to Jenkins, Barry, Missouri. In 1897 they went to Idaho by covered wagon and settled in the Winchester area, located in Nez Perce County (after 1911 Lewis County), Idaho. Later they relocated to Nampa, and finally to Kimberly, Missouri. In an autobiograhy, George R. King states they left Jenkins, Barry, Missouri in April 1897 and headed for Idaho, where they settled 9 August 1897. **Hannah was a sister of my great-great-grandmother, Nancy Caroline Langston Watkins King, who married George Reeves King's half-brother, John King.
