Barry County, Missouri Hadley Cemetery, Butterfield Township (T23N-R28W-S11) Front of Hadley House Hadley Cemetery Barry County, Missouri Back of Hadley House Aug. 2001 Note: The old Hadley house is no longer there, it was torn down by the current owner of the land. Southwest of Butterfield, Under large trees, 1/2 mi back in a pasture. Private gate There are two Hadley Cemeteries back in a field and can't be seen from each other. They are separated by two fields, both grown up with weeds and open to the cattle. The cemeteries are a real mess. Trees rotting and falling apart, ground covered with leaves and debris. All of the stones were laying on the ground and off their bases. Take 37 south out of Butterfield or north out of Cassville and turn west on FR2150. Cross FR1085 then the Railroad tracks. Right after crossing the RR, there is a private gate into a pasture. Now follow this map You need to go through numerous rickety gates and pastures....the cemeteries are located at opposite corners of a pasture. In August 2001 the weeds were over the hood of the truck and cows were everywhere so if you are in a car visit in the spring or fall when the weeds are down. ------------TRANSCRIPTONS BELOW------------ Name Born Died Source Butler, Martha A  Jan 2?, 1860 Jan 2?, 1891 Headstone  dragonheart1 Cameron, Elvis H  Oct 11, 1876 Oct 24, 1893 Headstone  dragonheart1 Cameron, Nicea P (Hadley)  1844 1915 Headstone  dragonheart1 EUBANKS, William G? Hadley, Alice J  Daughter of John and Sarah E Hadley HADLEY, Everhart Cassville Republican May 24, 1894 Vol xxii No 42 Died, at his home near Exeter, on Thursday, May 10th, 1894, of quick consumption. Everhart Hadley; aged 59 years, 5 months and 11 days. The deceased was born in Russell Co., Kentucky, Nov. 19th, 1834, and came to Barry County in 1859, where he resided continually since. He leaves a wife and eight children to mourn their loss, one child having preceded him. Of him it can be truthfully said that he was truly loyal, upright and honorable in every respect. By his death the wife loses an affectionate husband, the children a generous father, and the country a good citizen. He was always a true friend and a generous neighbor. He has been a member of the Baptist church since his 18th year, and has lived a Christian life for 42 years prior to his departure to receive the reward of the faithful. The funeral was preached at Antioch Church by the pastor, Rev. J. C. Sellars, and the remains laid to rest in the family graveyard on the old home place. Rest, father! Rest in peace! Rest till the Judgement day, When all the ransomed hosts of God, Will meet in grand array.
