Barry County Missouri - Descendants of Charles Haddock Jr. Ancestors Descendants of Charles Haddock Jr. Submitted by: Donna Cooper Charles is the son of Charles and Penny Haddock and he was my gr gr grandfather. According to the land records of Barry County, he lived on Capps Creek, owned Roaring River, and also owned several sections of Barry County land and was killed by bushwhackers. There is a meniton of Charles' death in Benton County documents which leads one to believe that he was killed in Benton County, and not in Barry Co. He owned land in Benton County, AR. but not much -- might have only been 40 acres or so, but it is important because it is now thought that he possibly died in Benton Co. and not Barry Co. as always assumed. After Charles' death, and in the probate papers, Susan, his second wife, ask that the land where New Site Cemetery is in Barry County, be set aside for a cemetery because Sarah a baby were buried there. In the Barry County probabte papers of Charles Haddock, his widow, Susan Rumbaugh Haddock, made that statement about Sarah's place of burial, and so far that is the only record of Sarah's place of burial that has been found.
