It is located at 405 Seventh Street. The image appears to be hand tinted. Image circa 1910 - 1915. As I recall, there was a school and a residence or convent for the nuns who taught there. It took up the entire block on the East side of the street facing West. Monett High School Painting This is a color painting of the building. No artist listed. Circa 1907 to 1910. Monett High School approx. 1915 Monett was establishing in 1877 and its new school was completed in February 1888. Monett High School New Building 1943 The new brick building that apparently replaced the highschool in the previous two pictures. The building is listed as "the high school and junior college." It was built in the same block immediately east of the 1915 high school building shown. Both buildings remained in use until the 1970s, when they were replace by a new high school on the same location, which is now the Monett Middle School. Masonic and Ozark Fruit Growers Assn Building Monett 1924 This image, circa 1924, is of the Monett masonic Building which later became the Ozark Fruit Growers Association. It is a scan of a black and white lithograph. Railroad Fred Harvey Frisco Depot Monett Monett was a railroad hub. This old photo card was tinted in blues and greys. The official designation for this building was the Fred Harvey Frisco Depot and Passenger Station. The card this image is from was dated 1918. Fred Harvey was a magnate who made his fortune by following the rails, building inns and depots along the way. He was the first to cash in on the idea that people wanted a *reliably* clean and good place to stay and may have been among the first hoteliers to start what we now call chains of hotels and other establishments. Railroad YMCA Monett 1910.jpg This fine old Grecian styled building was probably the YMCA residence for itinerant railroad personnel and laborers laid over on runs from out of state or town. Image is undated, but is probably the Twenties or earlier. Frisco Railyard in Monett Park Casino Monett 1928 Here is an old black and white photo from another postcard. It's an Albertype file postcard circa 1928, a black and white lithograph.
