The Civil War at Cassville Missouri 1998 "THE CIVIL WAR AT CASSVILLE, MISSOURI" SEPTEMBER 11, 12, 13, 1998 Schedule of Events FRIDAY - SEPT. 11 12:00 noon REGISTRATION OPENS AT SOUTH PARK. PLEASE REGISTER AT THE GAZEBO BEFORE PROCEEDING TO THE REENACTMENT CAMP SITE. 12:00 p.m. REGISTRATION CLOSES. IF ARRIVING AFTER THE MIDNIGHT HOUR PROCEED TO THE CAMP AREA AS QUIET AS POSSIBLE, REGISTER WITH YOUR COMMAND BY NOON THE 12th. Straw, wood & water will be at camp. 6-8:00 p.m. Previously scheduled Tour of the Greenway along the scenic Flat Creek and the Russell Cabin has been moved to the square; Square Dancing at 5:00 by the Swinging Stars ; Music at 6:00 p.m. by the Barry County Band and Tales of the Civil War to follow on the square. 8:00 p.m. Living History presentation at 8:00 p. m. at the Rocky Edmondson Memorial Park has been moved to the site of the Courthouse Area. Also, one of many places used by the State Guards on their way to Wilson Creek in 1861 prior to the Oak Hill Battle as referred to by the Confederates. Also, where the Legislature met in October and November of 1861 and conducted their historical Jackson Legislature business. SATURDAY - SEPT. 12 6:00 a.m. REVEILLE 8:00 a.m. REGISTRATION REOPENS AT THE MAIN TENT FOR SATURDAY ARRIVALS. 8:30 a.m. BATTALION OFFICER'S CALL. 9:00 a.m. CAMPS OPENED TO THE PUBLIC. ALL VEHICLES MUST BE REMOVED FROM MILITARY, PERIOD AND SUTLER AREAS BEFORE THIS TIME. 9:00 a.m. MILITARY UNIT DRILLS. WEAPONS SAFETY AND UNIFORM INSPECTIONS BY RESPECTIVE COMMANDS. 10:00 a.m. HISTORIC SKIRMISH FROM UNION SCOUTS - RESULTING IN HOUSE TO HOUSE FIGHTING BEFORE ENDING WITH THEIR RETREAT. AT THIS TIME IN 1862 THE CONFEDERATES STILL OCCUPIED THE TOWN. 12:00 NOON REGISTRATION CLOSES. LUNCH AT AREA FOOD PLACES OR VENDORS. 1:00 p.m. WEAPONS SAFETY AND UNIFORM INSPECTIONS BY RESPECTIVE COMMANDS. 1:30 p.m. "BATTLE NEAR CASSVILLE" REENACTMENT." 3:30 p.m. LADIES TEA, DEMONSTRATIONS & LECTURES AT MAIN TENT.
