JOHN M. ANDOE


During the early morning hours of July 5th John M. Andoe  departed  this
life into his eternal, home. He was a patient suffer of tuberculosis for
several years, the last seven months being confined to his bed. He lived
to the age of 68 years and 2 months. He was born in Tennessee  but  when
only a child his parents moved to Missouri where he  continued  to  live
until his death. He was very ambitious and considered  a  good  business
man, especially so as a farmer and stockman. He has two  wives  and  six
children who have proceeded him in death. A wife, three daughters,  Mrs.
Lou Edwards, Mrs. Artha Blasingame of Baxter and Mrs. Gertie  Wilson  of
Reeds Spring, three sons, Teddie, Johnine and  Dewey  of  Reeds  Spring,
survive him. He enlisted  for  Christ  when  young  and  always  donated
liberally to his church. During the last six years of his life he was an
active member of the Missionary Baptist church at  Key  Stone  near  his
home at Reeds Spring. He realized a few months previous that his earthly
life was limited and made his will and arranged his earthly  affairs  so
he would have nothing to regret. He said "I'm satisfied to go now and  I
thank the Lord that he has let me  live  to  see  my  children  men  and
women." He said to his wife and children, "Do not worry and  grieve  for
me for I will soon be at peace and rest with pa and  ma."  Although  his
death was expected it came very sudden to his family. He called for  his
three sons and asked them to raise him up and while in his son  Teddies,
arms, he passed away without a noticeable physical  movement.  His  wife
and children and youngest sister, two nieces and two nephews were at his
bedside, when the end came.  His  remains  were  laid  to  rest  in  the
McCollough cemetery, near his old home, on White River. Besides his wife
and children, he leaves four sisters, three brothers and a host of other
relatives and friends to mourn his departure.

Weep not dear ones, although his voice you will hear no more, but gladly
look forward to the time when you can meet him on yonders  green  short.

Roden shows the following information: John M. Andoe was born  April  9,
1856, died July 5, 1924. son of Daniel and L. Cannon.

This cemetery is at the McCullough church.
