Roller EX-PRESIDENT SUCCUMBS ------- Ex-President T.R. Roosevelt is dead, was the message that went over the wires Monday throughout the world and it case a gloom of sadness among his many admirers. A clot of blood on his brain is said to have been the cause of his sudden death. He was born in New York City, on Oct. 27, 1858, and was 60 years, 2 months and 10 days old. He was a patriotic and true blue American and probably had a greater personal following than any other man in this country. His name had been mentioned in connection with the Republican nomination for president in 1920. His first wife died in 1884, leaving one daughter, now Mrs. Alice Longworth of Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1886 he and Miss Edith Kermit Garow of New York were married, and five children were born of this marriage: Edith, wife of Dr. Richard Derby, and four sons, Theodore Jr., Kermit, Archibald and Quentin, Quentin joined the U.S. Aviation service and was killed in combat. Theodore Jr., and Archie joined the U.S. Army and Kermit, being unable to pass examination, joined the Brittish Army and all made good. His wife and children survive him excepting Quentin.
