Roller JAMES WILSON DIES SUDDENLY AT HOME HERE THURSDAY AFTERNOON ------------ PROMINENT CASSVILLE STOCK DEALER SUCCUMBS FOLLOWING SERIOUS ATTACK IN A FIELD NEAR HIS HOME WEDNESDAY MORN. James F. Wilson, a prominent citizen and stockman of Cassville, died very suddenly at his home in this city shortly after the noon hour Thursday, following a short illness from gall stone colic. Jim, as he was familiarly known, went down into the field at his farm, near town, and while down there, was seriously stricken and his condition has been exceedingly grace up until the end came. Everything possible was done to save his life but all efforts were in vain. Jim Wilson was a man that was loved by all who knew him. He was a big man in size, as well as in heart and was always ready to assist his fellow man. Good to his friends and kind and loving to his family. He was a man whose word was his bond always standing for right and honest at all times. He was a valuable man to Cassville and Barry county and will be sadly missed by all. He was born November 7th, 1872 and was 53 years and 5 days old. He was born on a farm on James River in Stone county and was first married to Minnie Oswalt, who died in 1914. To this union two children were born, Troy of Cassville and Mrs. Ova Little of Chicago, Ill., who survive him. In December, 1919 he and Mrs. Gillie Short of this city, were married and resided at their beautiful home at the out-skirts of this city. He was the son of Steve Wilson, Mr. Wilson dying a few years ago and his good mother resides in Stone county and survives him. He also leaves 6 brothers and 6 sisters to mourn his passing, he being the oldest of the family of 13 children. Jim started out in life on his own resources at the age of 10 years and had only seventy five cents in his pocket at the time. He bought his first farm on terms but at the time of his untimely passing he was comfortable situated, owning one of the best farms in this county and also a fire river bottom farm in Stone county. He also owned carious other valuable assets, including stock in the Barry County Bank in this city and much live stock. He was an extensive dealer in live stock and was noted for his straight-forward dealings with all at all times. Last Wednesday morning, he went down in a pasture near his home and took suddenly ill. He managed to return home where medical aid was summoned and his condition was pronounced to be serious from the start of his attack, he suffering withe gall stones and locked bowels. His condition continued to grow worse and regardless of the strong treatment administered to him, he passed away at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon with his excellent wife, son and other relatives at his bedside. Little did our friend Jim, think on that fatal morning that he was making his last trip over his farm. A picture of perfect health, no complaint of ill feelings he, as well as his family friends had no reason whatever, to even suspicion that death was practically staring him in the face. The call was made -- he responded. He will be missed not only by his family but by his hundreds of friends throughout this section of the state. Impressive funeral services will be conducted at the Christian church in Cassville, Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, after which interment will be made in the Oak Hill cemetery under the direction of the Horine-Koon Undertaking Co., of this city. The Democrat joins their large number of friends in extending its sincere sympathy to the grief stricken family in their sad hour.
