Mr. and Mrs. Claud Arnold; Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Arnold; Mr. and Mrs Lon Brattin (Cassville) Mrs. Elmira Routt of Springfield, aged 92 years, has passed on. Grandma Ellis was taken seriously ill last Friday. She is reported to be some better at this time. (Butterfield) Mr. and Mrs. John Chadd of Phillipsburg visited relatives here (Butterfield) this week. Mr. Chad stated that his brother-in-law, John Wade, who formerly lived here died recently. We were very sorry to hear of the death of our old school mate and neighbor, Mrs. Sallie Bryan McClure. She was always a kind, pure and innocent girl and woman. Her many friends at Washburn, join with the many friends and neighbors in extending their heartfelt sympathy with the bereved husband, Wm. McClure and other relatives. James E. Sickles, aged 50 years, owner of the St. James Hotel, at Joplin, died at Joplin of pneumonia, on July 23. Grief over the death of his wife, is said to have hastened his death. He is survived by two daughters and a son. (Butterfield) Little did we think, when we read last week, the great achievements of W.J. Bryan, that he would so soon go to his reward. He was one of the worlds greatest men. David M. Beattie, aged 82 years, of Rogersville, is dead. Abe Davidson, aged 82 years, of Verona, died last week. He was a Civil War veteran, and served in the 16th Missouri Cavalry. He was a good and a worthy american. Mrs. D.H. Ellis of Noel, Mc Donald County, is dead. She was born and raised in Pineville. Rev. John B. Jordan, aged 76 years, of Monett, died recently. He was a Methodist minister for many years. The body of a man said to be R. L. Denton, was found in a barn near Rogersville, with his throat cut with a razor on the night of July 18, 1925 George W. Taylor, a respected citizen of Sarcoxie, has passed on. He is survived by three daughters and two sons. The Rev. Henry Clay Clark, pastor of the Lebanon Christian Church and Miss Veda Belle McCully of Stoutland, were married recently. Wm. Bray, a well known citizen and 82 years of age, of Christian county is dead. He is highly spoken of. Mrs. Ada S. Hagerty, wife of Dr. T.H. Hagerty, who was a very prominent minister of the Methodist Episcopal confrence for 50 years, died at Lebanon, July 18th, and the home of her sister Mrs. Farrar. Mrs Melissa Wagnon was found dead in her bed at her home in Ozark Township. She has been apparently enjoying good health. Internment was made at Mars Hill Cemetery. Crowded out last week - We are sorry to learn of the death of little Carl Marlow, son of John Marlow, deceased, and wife. He contracted blood poisoning two weeks ago and in spite of all that medical aid and loving friend and relatives could do he passed away to be with the redeemed. Carl was nine years old and was well loved by all who knew him. He was laid to rest by his father's side in the New Church cemetery. Rev. J.T. Brattin delivered the funeral sermon. One of Charley Richardson's girls died Friday, July 31, and was buried at this place (Leann), Sunday. She died from the effects of acute appendicitis. The family have our heartfelt sympathy.
