HERMAN T. GARDNER
  Herman T. Gardner of 3332 Arlington, Independence, Mo., died Wednesday, March 24, at the
Veterans Administration Hospital in Kansas City at an age of 62 years, 3 months and 13 days. He
had been a patient in the hospital several times and entered the V.A. Hospital the last time on
February 14, 1971.
  He was born at Cole Camp December 11, 1908, son of the late Fred and Anna Gardner. On March
9, 1935, he married Miss Zona Eding at Cole Camp.
  For a number of years they made their home in Cole Camp and for the past 17 years lived in
Independence. Mr. Gardner was a retired production worker at the Lake City Army Ammunition
plant. He was a veteran of World War II.
  He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church, Independence, and American Legion Post 305,
Cole Camp.
  He is survived by his widow, Zona, of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Gunter, Parkview, Mo.,
and Mrs. Kate Bashore, Sedalia.
  Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Fox Funeral Chapel, Cole Camp, with the
Rev. Harold Luke officiating.
  Burial was in the Cole Camp Memorial Cemetery.
  Military rites were conducted by American Legion Post 305.
  Pallbearers were Harold Hunter, Ralph Finkland, Harold Gardner, Kenneth Bowen, Robert Owens
and Wesley Jones.
