Benton County, Missouri Obituaries - Lois I. Gardner Note: Obituaries may contain mistakes Cole Camp Courier July 5, 1984 Pg. 6 Lois I. Gardner, 71, Lincoln, died Thursday morning, June 28, 1984, at Bothwell Hospital, Sedalia. She was born January 19, 1913, near Cole Camp, daughter of James and Sylvania Casto Spencer. In 1945, she was married to Homer E. Gardner, who survives of the home. Mrs. Gardner spent her married life in Lincoln where she was a member of the Black Oak Community Church. Survivors include a son, Ray Gardner, Lincoln; two brothers, John Spencer, Fair Play, Mo.; Herbert Spencer, state of Iowa; five sisters, Bertha Allen, Cole Camp; Rachel Snyder, Emma Cooper and Edith Duncan, all of Lincoln; Ethel Young, Mora, Mo.; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jake and James Spencer. Lois will be sadly missed by family and friends. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Fred Davis and Son Funeral Home, Lincoln, with the Rev. Herman Bowers officiating. Organ Selections were by Evelyn Gardner. Pallbearers were Robert Eversole, Lonnie Allen, Finis Woolery, Charles Burnett, Ernest Burnett and Emmett Gardner. Burial was in the Union Cemetery, Cole Camp.
