Benton County, Missouri Obituaries - Lawrence F. Gardner Please note: Many obits contain many errors. Cole Camp Courier, July 18, 1963 Lawrence Gardner Dies In Sedalia Lawrence F. Gardner, 66, of 1609 South Quincy, Sedalia passed away at the Bothwell hospital at 2:50 Friday afternoon. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the McLaughlin's Chapel in Sedalia with the Rev. Armin Klemme of the United Chrurch of Christ, officiating. Burial was in Crown Hill Cemetery. Lawrence F. Gardner was born in Cole Camp, February 19, 1897, son of Fred and Arma Tietjen Gardner. On August 16, 1919 he was united in marriage to Miss Nora Bruns. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of The American Legion Post 16, World War I Veterans, Barracks 820, Sedalia Masonic Lodge 236 and a member of the Carpenters Local 1792 for 22 years. He is a retired civil service employee. Surviving are three sons, Lawrence F. Gardner, Chicago, ILL.; Robert P. Gardner, Suffolk, Va.; Harold L. Gardner, Independence; two brothers, Herman T. Gardner, Kansas City; Arthur Gardner, Sedalia; two sisters, Mrs. Kate Bashore, Sedalia; Mrs. Anna Gunter, Kansas City; five grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. [Typed as found.
