September the 15th 1842. While my wish and desire is that I should do justice both to my wife and children therefore it is necessary to make this my last will and testament so that all difficulties and quarrels may be prevented not knowing how soon I may be called by the Ruler of all from time into eternity. Therefore it is my will that of the property that I now have my wife shall keep for her share eighty acres of land the same being on Haw Creek to wit Section 25, township 43, Range 20 from which she shall pay to Claus Heinrich my son the sum of one hundred dollars. Second the ninety dollars with which I have bought the following land to wit section 5, township 42, range 20 shall be the property of my wife during her life after her death the same shall descend to the person with which she shall last reside. Thirdly that the money which is coming to us from John Frederick Hops and Johann Bames and Johann Henry Ehlen and one Bedstead and Bed and stove shall be hers my wifes my four children the first named Gesche 25 years of age has already received one hundred and fifty dollars in the year A.D. 1839. Second Becke twenty three years of age has also received one hundred and fifty dollars in the year 1839. Thirdly Ludowick twenty one years of age shall have all the Horses, cattle, Hogs, Bees & c. and household and Kitchen furniture now at the place where I live and also the improvement where I live. Lastly Claus Heinrich 13 years of age shall have first forty acres of land on Cole Camp Creek and the one hundred dollars to be paid by my wife with interest on the same from the time he is fourteen years old at six per cent per annum.
