Biographical Sketch of John Bogle, St. Joseph, Buchanan County, MO >From "History of Buchanan County, Missouri, Published 1881, St. Joseph Steam Printing Company, Printers, Binders, Etc., St. Joseph, Missouri. ********************************************************************** John Bogle, is a native of Ireland, and was born in 1835. He emigrated to America on June 9, 1852, landing in New York, where he remained one year, and worked at brick laying. In 1853, he was employed to go West and peddle. He worked his way on foot from Cincinnati, Ohio, to St. Joseph, Missouri, landing March 7, 1857. He was a peddler three years, in partnership with McNealy, until 1861, and then went across the plains, and was absent for one year. He returned to St. Joseph, which has since been his home. He married in 1863, S.
