V. Brady, of the firm of J. V. Brady & Co., jobbers in teas and cigars, is a native of Virginia, and during his boyhood, spent his time on a farm. During the years 1863-1864, he was in the govern- ment employ, transporting horses to St. Joseph, Missouri, and com- menced clerking for Nave, McCord & Co. This he continued for eight years, and in January, 1873, was admitted as a partner.
