Biographical Sketch of Henry Dunn, St. Joseph, Buchanan County, MO >From "History of Buchanan County, Missouri, Published 1881, St. Joseph Steam Printing Company, Printers, Binders, Etc., St. Joseph, Missouri. ********************************************************************** Henry Dunn, engineer on the Kansas City, St. Joseph and Council Bluffs Railroad. Of the old stand-bys of this company Mr. Dunn occupies a prominent place. He was born in Genesee County, New York, February 22, 1839, and when sixteen years of age came to Missouri, locating in St. Joseph. In 1864, he commenced railroading, for the Hannibal and St. Joseph Railroad Co., in the capacity of fireman, continuing for a time, when he retired and engaged in other pursuits. He was in the employ of the Western Stage Co., and for two years with the famous Ben Holliday. His next departure was in the capacity of fireman on the old Council Bluffs & St. Joseph RR, and one of the oldest employ- ees with the present K.C., St. J. & C.B. Railroad Co., and was one year in the employ of the Burlington and Missouri.
