Biographical Sketch of Lewis L. Evans, Agency Township, Buchanan County, MO >From "History of Buchanan County, Missouri, Published 1881, St. Joseph Steam Printing Company, Printers, Binders, Etc., St. Joseph, Missouri. ********************************************************************** Lewis L. Evans, farmer, section 4, post office Garrettsburg, was born in Garrett County, Kentucky, May 16, 1845. In 1850, his parents emi- grated to Clinton County, Missouri where he remained until 1880, at which time he removed to Buchanan County. He was married to Miss Rebecca Modrell, October 18, 1877. She was born April 29, 1856, in Missouri. They have two children: Lizzie L., born August 20, 1878, died July 28, 1880 and Virgil, born September 15, 1880. Mr. Evans owns 119 acres of land in section 4 and 5, all under fence and in a good state of cultivation.
