Biographical Sketch of E. N. Flaisig, St. Joseph, Buchanan County, MO >From "History of Buchanan County, Missouri, Published 1881, St. Joseph Steam Printing Company, Printers, Binders, Etc., St. Joseph, Missouri. ********************************************************************** E. N. Flaisig, one of St. Joseph's railroad men, who is deserving of special mention, was born in Sydney, Ohio, February 16, 1841. When quite young he removed, with his parents, to Sandusky, where he was raised to manhood and educated. His father, William Flaisig, was a merchant. In 1861, he commenced railroading, on the Ohio and Miss- issippi Railroad, continuing with that company, as freight conductor for twelve years, after which, for five years he was with the Miss- ouri Pacific Railroad, in the same capacity. For three years he has had charge of the Hannibal & St. Joseph yard. He has served a long and continuous time at the business, and is one of the most efficient hereabouts. On May 2, 1865, Miss Jennie Stevenson, of Xenia, Ohio, became his wife. They have two children: Nannie O. and William R.
