A. Given, farmer and market gardener, section 18, post office Agency. The subject of this sketch was born in Monroe County, Missouri January 6, 1846. When a small boy his parents moved to Randolph County Missouri, and at the age of twenty one he moved to Buchanan County, where he has resided ever since. He was married to Miss Ellen Blecker in 1868. She was a native of Virginia. They have had three children: a son that died in infancy, C. Maud and Charles. Mr. Given is an ent- erprising and energetic citizen and a member of the Masonic fraternity.
