L. Sommer & Co., is a native of Kentucky, and was born February 1, 1843, and is the son of James and Mary Huggins, pioneers of that state. When Louis was in his fifteenth year, the family removed to St. Joseph, Missouri, where he was raised to man- hood and educated. It may be said that since he came to this city, he has been constantly identified with the business circles, as for a number of years he clerked in different houses, and was also en- gaged in the notion trade. In 1874, he embarked in the soap manu- facturing business, in which he continued until 1877, when he became one of the firm of F. L. Sommer & Co., cracker manufacturers. ==================================================================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
