Biographical Sketch of Edwin Hedenber, St. Joseph, Buchanan County, MO >From "History of Buchanan County, Missouri, Published 1881, St. Joseph Steam Printing Company, Printers, Binders, Etc., St. Joseph, Missouri. ********************************************************************** Edwin Hedenber, carpenter and builder, was born in Jacksonville, Illinois, July 5, 1840, and was reared, educated and learned his trade in that city, there residing until 1870. In September, 1862, he enlisted in Company K, One Hundred and First Illinois Infantry, and participated at the sieges of Vicksburg and Atlanta, and many other stirring events. He was honorably discharged May 25, 1865. In 1870, emigrated to Salina, Kansas, and engaged in building until 1880, when he became a resident of St. Joseph, Missouri. As a mechanic he has few competitors. He was married December 24, 1869, to Miss Annie T. Underwood, of Ohio. They have a family of six children living: Walter E., Annie C., Mary L., Reuben C., Ellen E. and Militon D.
