Biographical Sketch of J. C. Hedenberg, St. Joseph, Buchanan County, MO >From "History of Buchanan County, Missouri, Published 1881, St. Joseph Steam Printing Company, Printers, Binders, Etc., St. Joseph, Missouri. ********************************************************************** J. C. Hedenberg, attorney at law and abstractor, is a native of Illinois, and was born in 1843; received limited school advantages up to the age of fourteen, and then commenced working on a farm, where he resided until 1863, at which time he went into the army. He was Orderly Sergeant, and was detailed in the Commissary Dept. for two years. He came to St. Joseph, Missouri, in January, 1866, and read law under Parker & Strong, and was admitted to the bar in December, 1869, and has been a successful practitioner for many years. He is a member of the I.O.O.F., and was married in 1871, to Miss Mary s. Reeves, a native of Pennsylvania. By this union they had two children. Mr. Hedenberg has been in the abstract business since 1869. He has a complete and thorough abstract of titles for the County of Buchanan, and is the oldest abstractor in the county now in business.
