Biographical Sketch of John Hill, St. Joseph, Buchanan County, MO

John Hill, of the firm of W. W. Scott & Co., roofers, was born in
DeKalb, Buchanan County, Missouri, August 25, 1852. His father,
Thomas Hill, was a farmer, and in 1865 went to Montana, engaging in
stock raising. John accompanied him, and returned during the autumn
of 1867. In 1874, he again went there, remaining three years, and
later visited the western country, spending a few years in Texas and
Cherokee country. In the spring of 1881 he formed a partnership with
Mr. Scott. His is a Mason and an Odd Fellow.
