L. Hunt, the Market Square painter, is a native of Platte County, Missouri, and was born February 19, 1847; was there raised and ed- ucated, learning his trade principally in Kansas City. In 1875, he took up his abode in St. Joseph, and worked as journeyman until 1878. For a time he conducted business in Platte City. In 1878, he engaged in trade. He married, in 1871, Miss Clara Wardtfager. They have a family of five children: Minnie, James, Emma, Jennie and an infant.
