Biographical Sketch of Thomas Heenahen, St. Joseph, Buchanan County, MO >From "History of Buchanan County, Missouri, Published 1881, St. Joseph Steam Printing Company, Printers, Binders, Etc., St. Joseph, Missouri. ********************************************************************** Thomas Heenahen, policeman, was born in County Mayo, Ireland, on September 22, 1839, and was there brought up, making it his home until he attained his nineteenth year, when he came to the United States. In 1859, he came to St. Joseph, Missouri, and during his sojourn here, has been in numerous pursuits, for a number of years was engaged in boating on the river, and since 1878, he has been on the police force, and ranks as one of the best guardians of the peace in the city. He was married in Ireland to Miss Bridget Knight. They have had eight children, four of whom are living: Margaret, Bridget, Catherine and Thomas.
