Biographical Sketch of C. F. Harral, St. Joseph, Buchanan County, MO

C. F. Harral, foreman of the paint shops of the Kansas City, St.
Joseph & Council Bluffs Railroad Co., was born in Leeds, England,
December 24, 1845, and when young, came to the United States, with
his parents, his father, B. F., locating in Aurora, Illinois, where
the subject of this sketch was principally raised. He learned his
trade in Aurora and Galesburg, and in the latter place was a resi-
dent for eleven years, being in the employ of the Chicago, Burlington
and Quincy Railroad Company. On August 15, 1878, he took charge of
the Kansas City, St. Joseph & Council Bluffs shops. His long exper-
ience has made him proficient in the various details of railway
painting, and few in the profession have a more enviable reputation.
He was married in 1869, to Miss Mary Stockdale, of Ohio. They have
four children: Frank, Minnie, Lillie and Edith. Mr. Harral is a
member of Blude Lodge of Masons.
