Jones, farmer and stock dealer, section 24, postoffice Rushville, was born in Fleming County, Kentucky, October 3, 1834, and was there raised on a farm. In 1856 he went to Rush County, Indiana, where he worked on a farm one year and returned to his native home and shortly after went to Jefferson County, Kansas. In December, 1857 he came to Buchanan County, Missouri, where he has since been engaged in farming and dealing in stock. His farm contains 280 acres. He was married December 13, 1859, to Miss Marilda Jones. She was born in Rush County, Indiana, August 17, 1841. They have three children: Thomas D., Albert H. and Bettie J.
