Biographical Sketch of Perry W. Noland, postoffice Halleck, dealer in dry goods, groceries, hardware, agricultural implements, queensware, notions, clothing, boots and shoes, hats, caps, etc. Was born in Buchanan County, MO., November 22, 1847; had fair education; was raised on a farm until sixteen years old, then engaged in clerking, which he followed up to 1870, when he engaged in business on his own responsibility under the firm name of Noland, Robinson & Willis, doing a successful business. In 1878 he purchased the interest of both partners, since which time he has been operating alone. He owns a store house 22 x 50, two stories high, the upper part of which is occupied by Masonic and Odd Fellow Lodges. He married Miss Mary Murphy on April 7, 1867. She was born in Buchanan County, Missouri, September 1, 1851. By this marriage he has had two children: Walter, born January 4, 1877 and he died September 19, 1878; and Egbert, born November 11, 1873. He is a Master Mason, and has been a member of the Christian Church since 1859, and is now a deacon in the same. He has also been constable, and is now justice of the peace. He served in the Pawpaw Militia. Has been postmaster for six years.
