Biographical Sketch of Peter Podvant, St. Joseph, Buchanan County, MO >From "History of Buchanan County, Missouri, Published 1881, St. Joseph Steam Printing Company, Printers, Binders, Etc., St. Joseph, Missouri. ********************************************************************** Peter Podvant, feed and sale stable; was born in Canada East, September 14, 1838, and spent his early life in farming. In 1849 he located in St. Charles County, where he engaged in farming, and there resided till 1865, when he became a resident of St. Joseph, Missouri. For a number of years he was engaged in teaming, and in 1876 embarked in his present vocation. He is a thorough horseman, and has made the business a succ- ess. He was married February 1, 1858, to Miss P. Tayon. They have seven children: L.
