Biographical Sketch of G. A. Riblet, St. Joseph, Buchanan County, MO >From "History of Buchanan County, Missouri, Published 1881, St. Joseph Steam Printing Company, Printers, Binders, Etc., St. Joseph, Missouri. ********************************************************************** G. A. Riblet, of the firm of Niles, Riblet & Co., proprietors of the Vulcan Machine Shop, was born in West Virginia, July 14, 1846, and there reared, educated and learned his trade. In 1869, he came to Nebraska, and for three years conducted a blacksmith shop at Tecumseh. In 1873, he took up his abode in St. Joseph, Missouri, and for six years was in the employ of the Union Foundry, after which he became one of the firm of Chase, Riblet & Co., which was changed to the present firm name.
