Biographical Sketch of Spalsbury Bros., St. Joseph, Buchanan County, MO >From "History of Buchanan County, Missouri, Published 1881, St. Joseph Steam Printing Company, Printers, Binders, Etc., St. Joseph, Missouri. ********************************************************************** Spalsbury Bros., dealers in stoves, tinware and hardware. O. M. Spalsbury is a native of New York, and was born in 1849. At an early age he removed from the Empire State to Michigan, where he was raised and educated. In 1863, for a time, he was a resident of Chicago, after which he emigrated to Kansas, coming to St. Joseph in 1865, and has since principally made it his home. For a time he was in the lumber trade at Hiawatha, Kansas and Maryville, Missouri. In the autumn of 1877 he engaged in his present business. He is a member of the Mason's Blue Lodge. E. A. Spalsbury is a native of Jefferson County, New York, and was born in 1855. He came to Missouri with his parents, taking up his abode in St. Joseph, and here he was raised and educated.
