Biographical Sketch of D. L. Southworth, St. Joseph, Buchanan County, MO >From "History of Buchanan County, Missouri, Published 1881, St. Joseph Steam Printing Company, Printers, Binders, Etc., St. Joseph, Missouri. ********************************************************************** D. L. Southworth, blacksmith, was born in Medina, New York, September 27, 1836, and was there reared, educated and learned the blacksmith's trade. In 1864, he went to Grand Rapids, Michigan, and for four years worked as a journeyman, after which he returned to New York and for several years did business in Medina. Was also for a couple of years in Knowlesville. He came to St. Joseph, Missouri in December, 1880, engaging in trade. He is a practical workmen in all branches. He was married, in 1859, to Miss J. P. Morgan, of New York.
