HILLIS / CLARK CEMETERY of BUTLER COUNTY MISSOURI   Copyright 1997, 2001  By:  Betty Hanks and Terry  McLean,  tmclean@earthlink.net. HILLIS / CLARK CEMETERY (#66) T23N R7E SEC 10 This is a landmark cemetery for the area. The oldest known stone has a death date of 1877, but we can reasonably assume that there may be graves which are older than that. Families buried in this cemetery represent the ‘old line’ names - families that are responsible for the growth and development of  the area bordering the Black River between Carola and  Ash Hill.
