BUTLER COUNTY MISSOURI  houts berryman lewis cemetery Copyright 1997, 2001 by Betty Hanks and Terry McLean, tmclean@earthlink.net. ) HOUTS CEMETERY (#21) Once known as BERRYMAN LEWIS CEMETERY T25N R5E SEC 31 Map #6? Originally a family burying ground, Houts eventually became a community burial place. It was a fairly large cemetery, but today you will find few markers standing. There is evidence of numerous graves with no markers, or graves marked only by field stone. As late as 1886 this was still referred to as the Lewis Cemetery.
