QULIN (Old) / MELVILLE CEMETERY of BUTLER COUNTY MISSOURI   Copyright 1997, 2001  By:  Betty Hanks and Terry  McLean,  tmclean@earthlink.net. T23N R7E SEC 35 or T23N R8E SEC 31 When the town was first laid out, it was known as Melville. The name was later changed to Qulin. Earliest land deeds are still under the name Melville. A published history of Butler county states that when the original town was laid out, the cemetery was right in the center. This old cemetery is no longer found. Older residents have reported that the old cemetery was built over, and that many of the stones were bulldozed or hauled away.
