BUTLER COUNTY MISSOURI patty cemetery Copyright 1997, 2001 by Betty Hanks and Terry McLean, tmclean@earthlink.net. ) PATTY CEMETERY (#101) T25N R5E SEC 28 Map #6 Not found, but mentioned in some older records. It is known that when the PATTY family came to Butler County from Tennessee, they purchased land adjacent to the Robert APPLEBY land, which is in this section. Family tradition in the HANKS and APPLEBY families tell that Mr. PATTY fell a little short of the money he needed for the final purchase of the property. He approached Robert APPLEBY, and Mr. APPLEBY loaned him $200 in gold to make payment, even though he did not know Mr. PATTY well. The family also states that Mr. PATTY faithfully met his obligation and repaid his neighbor in full. The obituaries for these two young men stated they were buried in PATTY Cemetery.
