SPARKMAN, and Alice SPARKMAN, Sam’l SHADLE and Minnie SHADLE and D. H. ROBERTS and S. J. ROBERTS with W. M. MONTGOMERY and Francis MONTGOMERY and M. W. HELM, did meet ... on the 23 day of February 1908 ... and procured a house for said body known as the J. R. P. MONTGOMERY residence in Butler County Missouri... 23 Feb 1908 - procured a house for church - Green Forest Church. 1 acre of land from W. S. MONTGOMERY... deed signed by W. S. MONTGOMERY & Sitha MONTGOMERY, his wife. ... conveying of deed to D. H. ROBERTS and W. M. MONTGOMERY, and Wm. SHADLE and their successors as trustees of said body... [signed] M. W. HELM “To all whom it may concern, that on or about the 6th day of Jul 1908 the ... Church of Christ worshipping at the J. R. P MONTGOMERY residence... began the erection of a new house of worship or new meeting house which was opened for worship the 11th day of October 1908...” May 16, 1909 - The meeting house owned and occupied by the Church of Christ at Green Forest, Butler County Missouri was burned to the ground between the hours of 1 and 5 o’clock am.
