Wallace Sheriff of Butler County produces his bond in court with J. A. Gilley, J C N Yorther, Isaac Shipman, John Macon, Samuel Morrison, Henry C. Bollinger, Ephraim B Keener and Franklin B Hill which Bond is approved and ordered to be filed. The Sheriff returned in to court the names of the following persons whom he had summoned is Grand Jury men to attend at this Term of Court to wit: W. R. Griffith, William Hill, R.L. Brown, David Gower, Hamilton Scott, Louise M. By_s, Jesse A Gilley, William Ellison, William Whittington, Shelby R Rutherford, Christopher Write?, Lemuel C. Burgess, Ex__ C Scott, Charles Applebay, James Craff?, John L Davis, W. R. Griffith, ___ here se___ally sworn with W. R. Griffith foreman who retired to consult upon their duties. ____der H. __inn adminr of John Bollinger against Frederick Hohm? Civil Action The defendant _____solemly called came not but makes default and ____ cause heirs submitted to the court after _____ the proofs and allegations herein and it appearing _______________ several with process ___ therefore ______________________________ and adjudged that _____________ plain ___________________and damages sentenced _____________ of his debt mentioned in his petition and also his cost herein appended and that ___ have execution therefore. William Prewitt? & others Daniel Laudeen? & others On petition for partition of real estate The _______________ present their petition raying for the partition of the following real estate __________________________________________ thirty two _______________ twenty five, north range five ____ containing forty acres and also for the appointment of Guardian ad ______ for the minor heirs thwere upon the court appoint Jacob C. Blount Guardian he being present, accepts the appointment and consent to partiion of said land, and the court upon examination of said petition and exhibits do find that each of the said claims are entitled to equal shares in said land and that partition of the same cannot be made. It is therefore ordered that the sheriff of this county sell the said real estate m or credit _____ months taking bond and security agsiar__law and make report of his proceedings to this court. Circuit Court of Butler County September Term 1850 And this cause continued to the next Term of this Court. Court adjourned to half past 7 oclock tomorrow morning H. Hough Saturday September 14th 1850, 2nd day of the Term, Present Hon Harrison Hough Judge, Court met pursuant to adjournment. It is hereby ordered that the following device be procured to be used as the seal of the Circuit Court of Butler County to wit; a device which will make a circular impression one inch and a half in diameter with the words seal of the Circuit Court of Butler County Mo on its face with the sign of a Virgin holding balances at equipoise in the center thereof. The Grand Jury return the following indictments to wit against James K/H Black for the forgery. Whereupon the Circuit attorney arraigns the said James K/H Black upon the said indictment and asks for a continuance of said cause, until the next term of this Court which is granted. Bollinger A True Bill The State of Missouri Indictment for fornication Vs Martin Franklin A True Bill The State of Missouri Indictment for assault with intent to Kill Vs Farmer _ Heigh A True Bill The State of Missouri Indictment for forgaery Vs James K Black A True Bill And said Jury having completed their deliberations it is ordered that they be discharged. The State of Missouri Vs James K Black Indictment for Forgery And now at this time comes the said Plaintiff by his attorney and moves the court to set aside the continuance heretofore granted in the cause, which I accordingly done. And therefore the defendant by his Attornies, Watkins and Hill moves the court upon reasons filed to squash said Indictment and after having had the hearing of the arguments of counsel in said motion the court doth order and adjudge that said indictment be squashed, And that said defendant James K Black be discharged from the matter and things _____ charged against him and go thereof without day. State of Missouri Vs Lewis M Bruis? Indictment for selling Liquor without License And now at this time comes the said defendant and John S. Davis his security, and acknowledge themselves to owe and be indebted to the State of Missouri in the sum of One hundred dollars, to be levied of their goods and chattels lands and tenements consti____ that of the said defendant Lewis M. Pries? Shall personally be and appear before the next term of this court and on the first day thereof and answer unto said indictment and shall not from thence depart without leave of court then this recognizance to be ____ otherwise to remain in full force and this cause to continued to the next term of this court Ordered that Court to now adjourn all _____ in course H.
