MOUND CHAPEL CEMETERY, Caldwell Co., MO New York Township -- Section, 29 Township 56, Range 27 Located: 2 miles south of Kingston on Highway 13 and about 5 miles east on Route F. It was located on west the side of road, when you are on the stretch going north. Nothing is there now. Mound Chapel Church was built in 1881 (M. E. South) The building cost about $1,000.00. The church organization was effected in August, 1871 and some of the first members were: C. Smith, Phebe A., Ova and Ettie Smith; P. L. Truman, Bradford, Sarah, Nellie and Jennie Cox; and John and Elizabeth Curtis. The ministers who have served the Church have been Revs. Danie Penny, G. Tanquary, T. H. Swearingen, J. W. Perry, H. T. Leeper, T. E. Ross, J. McEwen and J. L. Meffert. BATEMAN, Daniel, b. ca. 1805 -- still alive in 1870 He came to New York Township from Pennsylvania in the 1840's and is believed to be buried here.
