His family moved to Missouri in the early 1820s, eventually settling in Chariton (now Randolph) County. Aaron acquired federal land in what is now Macon County in December 1835 and sold same in March 1840. He moved to Callaway County soon thereafter. He was living near Shamrock in northeast Callaway County at the time of his death.
