Rose Springs Sept. 27th, 1868 John E. Irvine, Esq. Yours of Aug. 19 has been received and conterris noted = I have been trying to sell out for some time = but have not succeeded in doing so yet. If I can possibly sell between this and Spring I will return to Missouri and attend to my business but during the mean time try and find out all you can from my Cousin of whom you speak in your letter and send me his name in your next letter for I have so many cousins that I don't know which one you refer to and give me his address also and also try and find out my Sister's address. You will please find out all that you possibly can about my business and let me know and I will send you some money to go on and will pay you well for your time if I succeed in getting anything.
