Carroll County, Missouri Obituary - Cowick, Orville E. d. December 13, 1994 Source: Cowick, Orville E. - Obit Carrollton Daily Democrat page 3 Wednesday 14 Dec 1994 Orville E. Cowick, age 87, of Carrollton, died 13 December 1994, at the Carrollton Nursing Center. He was born 21 March 1907, in Wakenda, MO, to Frank E and Amanda Frances Brotherton Cowick. After attending school in Wakenda, he was a farmer and worked for the Wabash Railroad. On 21 May 1927, he was married to Myrtle C. Wheeler in Carrollton. She survives at the home. Other survivors included six sons: Carl Cowick of Carrollton, MO; Frankie Lee Cowick of Independence, MO; Richard G. Cowick of Hickory, NC; Kenton Ray Cowick of Chapels Hills, NC; Donald Keith Cowick of Lee's Summit, MO and Ronald Wayne Cowick of Denver, CO; tow daughters, Eva Corkins of Lead, SD and Doris Polus of Nashville, MI; a sister Frances Chandler of Hiawatha, KS; and several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Arvella Christine, two brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be 1 pm Friday, December 16 at the Gibson-Rice Funeral Home in Carrollton. Burial will be in Carroll Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 7:00 to 8:30 pm, Thursday, December 15, at the Gibson-Rice Funeral Home in Carrollton.
