Carroll County, Missouri Obituary - Charles Creel Dulaney d. December 3, 1953 Source: DEATH OF CHARLES C. DULANEY Former Resident Dies Last Thursday at Home of Daughter in Meadville. Charles Creel Dulaney was born at McComb, Illinois, April 23, 1865. His father and mother were Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Dulaney, old pioneers of this country and charter members of the First Christian Church of Hale. He was one of eight children and grew up in this community. He was united in marriage to Miss Jessie Elma Thatcher on December 23, 1888, at Avalon, MO. To this union were born eleven children. Of this group, seven are living and four died while still in infancy. Mr. and Mrs. Dulaney celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1938 and have spent many, many happy years together, and both lived for the happiness and welfare of their children and grandchildren. Mr. Dulaney suffered the loss of his beloved wife on March 23, 1951, and since has lived for the day when he could again be united with her. Also his mother, father and all brothers and sisters have preceded him in death. He being the last of the old Dulaney family. Mr. and Mrs. Dulaney went to live with one of their daughters, Frances and Gene Muck in January, 1951. He has gradually become weaker for the past few months, but was only bedfast a little over a week. He never once complained and was ready and prepared to join his loved ones in that "Better Land". He became bedfast on November 23, 1953 and passed away December 3, 1953 at 3:55 P.M. He is survived by the following children: William Lloyd of Duck, West Virginia, Everett Clifton, confined at Veterans hospital at Wadsworth, Kans.; Charles Elbert of Kansas City, Mo.; Jessie Elma Nell, Bosworth, Mo., Frances Caroline Muck, Meadville, Mo.; Elizabeth Thatcher Preston, Hutchinson, Kan.; and Lolita L. Dulaney, Studio City, Calif.; also 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Memorial services for Mr. Dulaney were held Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at the First Christian church in Hale, conducted by Brother Ben Huddleston of Junction City, Kans. Six grandsons were pallbearers; Charles Muck, Owen Kehr, Orville Buckman, Walter Martz, Billie and Wayne Dulaney.
