Miller, 73, of Wakenda, died Tuesday, Feb 27 at Kelling's Clinic in Waverly. Mr. Miller was born in Glena, KS on 30 September 1899, the son of John and Ida Browning Miller. He was married to Zelma Naught on 28 December 1921 in Columbus, KS. A former coal miner and steel worker at the Union Wire Rope in Kansas City, Mr. Miller had lived in Wakenda 43 years. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints in Bates City, MO and the Masonic Lodge No. 522 of Kansas City, MO. Survivors include his wife of the home: three daughters, Mrs. Gene (Leona) Kelly and Mrs. Warren (Irene) Endicott both of Independence, MO and Mrs. P. E. (Marjorie) Clevenger of Lawson, MO; five sons, John William Miller of Garfield, AR; Harold T. Miller and Earl Richard Miller both of Carrollton, MO; Lloyd Edward Mill and Donnie Ray Miller both of Wakenda, MO; 20 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Two brothers, John Henry Miller of Chanute, KS and Hershel Miller of Iola, KS; a sister, Emma Woodward of Dawson, OK; and two half-brothers, Lester Thompson of Iola, KS and Ed Thompson. He was preceded in death by two sisters, a brother and three children. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Friday at Gibson Funeral Home conducted by Harold Thayer assisted by Elder Carl Cowick. Burial will be in Adkins Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 pm Thursday at the Gibson Chapel and Masonic services will be held at 8:30 pm Thursday.
