Friday, September 19th, 1913



  Mrs. Louisa Richards McCorkle, died at her home on the farm of her brother, 

S.K. Wright in Moss Creek township, Saturday afternoon, September 13, 1913, of 

Bright’s disease; aged 49 years 8 months and 24 days.

  She was the widow of the late James McCorkle, who died a few years ago in 

McDonald county. She was reared in Carroll county and while living here became 

the wife of James McCorkle, a well known citizen of this county. She is 

survived by her three children and by her brother, Samuel K. Wright, a 

prominent farmer living a few miles east of Norborne.

  For many years she was a member of the M.E. Church, and was a thorough 

Christian woman. She was a good wife and a kind and indulgent mother and her 

death brings sorrow, not only to her family, but to a large circle of friends.

  Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Lane Douglas, were held at the 

Methodist church in Carrollton, Monday afternoon at three o’clock. Burial was 

in Oak Hill cemetery.
