Rose Died After Long Illness James B. Rose, 90, a resident of the Mandeville community most of his life, died at 3:00 Monday afternoon at the Jones nursing home in Chillicothe. He had been a patient there three years. Mr. Rose was born in Carroll County, 1 November 1868, a son of James B. and Maria (Cox) Rose. He was married in 1896 at Falls City, NE, to Rebecca Rose. She preceded him in death several years ago. Of the eight children born to them four sons also preceded their father. Mr. Rose is survived by two sons, Glendon Rose of Braymer, MO and B. H. Rose of Kansas City; two daughters, Mrs. James Mendenhall of Independence, MO and Mrs. C. R. Bowman of Chillicothe; one brother, Bruce Rose of Kansas City; a half brother, Terry Rose of Carrollton, MO; eight grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Besides the wife and sons, he was preceded in death by four brothers, a sister, a half brother and a step sister. Mr. Rose was a member of the Church of Christ and of Bogard Lodge No. 101 AF & AM. The Body was removed to the Dickerson funeral home, Bogard, to lie in state. Funeral services were at 2:00 Wednesday at the Enon Church conducted by the Rev. J. Miles of Kansas City.
