February 20, 1984 Source: local newspaper: Carroll Co MO Feb 1984 Staton, Daisy - Obit Mrs. Daisy Staton, 73, of Carrollton died Monday, Feb 20, 1984 at the Riverview Heights Nursing Home in Waverly. Mrs. Staton was born 18 July 1910 in Wakenda the daughter of Levi and Sarah Wheeler. She was married to Unice L. Staton on 15 Nov 1928 in Carrollton. Her husband preceded her in death 12 Feb 1983. She attended rural schools in the Wakenda area. She was a housewife and a member of the Wakenda Church of Christ. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Julie Smith, Mrs. Juanita Kinder and Mrs. Mary Lou White all of Carrollton and Mrs. Catherine Crump, Kansas City, KS; two sons, Charles A. Staton and Robert L. Staton both of Carrollton. Three sisters Mrs. Orville Christine Cowick, Mrs. Sylvia Brotherton and Mrs. Dorothy Allen all of Carrollton; eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 pm Wednesday at the Walnut Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Raps officiating.
