Carroll County, Missouri Obituary - Smith, Margaret F. July 29, 1910 Source: "Republican Record" on August 4, 1910 Smith, Margaret F. - Obit Mrs. Margaret Smith Dead Mrs. Margaret F. Smith, widow of the late A. J. Smith, died last Friday morning at 6 o'clock, at her home 3 miles northwest of Carrollton, after a 10 day illness from typhoid fever. Deceased was born March 15, 1832, in east Tennessee, and at the time of her death was a little over 78 yrs of age. She was united in marriage to A. J. Smith on July 13, 1854, and they came to Missouri in 1883 and located on a farm east of Carrollton, where they resided a few years, later moving to the present Smith house, where the continued to reside until their death. Nine children were born to them, six of whom survive her; John T., of this city, James F., Mrs. Mary Smart, Mrs. Mattie Johnson, Henry Oscar, and Mrs. Dora Cravens, all of this county. Mrs. Smith was a splendid Christian character, and those who knew her best loved her most. She was a good wife and mother, and bore respect and esteem of all. She was converted in early life and united with the Methodist Church, in which faith she continued until her death. In her demise the community has lost a splendid woman whose memory will long be revered. The funeral was held at the family residence Saturday morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by Dr. W. C.
