November 20, 1947 From the Norborne Democrat-Leader, Friday, November 21, 1947 Submitted by Robert Schroeder 29 Dec 2008 August C Schroeder, Sr Mr. August Schroeder passed away at 1:00 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 20, born on March 13, 1864 in Breece, Illinois and lived there until manhood. In 1888 he married Magdalena Theener. They lived in St. Louis two years before moving to Norborne, where they made their home until the death of Mrs. Schroeder, five years ago. Mr. Schroeder is survived by one brother, John Schroeder of Norborne, four children, Mr. August Schroeder, Jr of Independence, Mo., Walter Schroeder of California, Mrs. Charles Kugler of Richmond, Mo., Mrs. Bertha Breece of California, four grandchildren, Mrs. Mamie Mallee of Independence, Charles Schroeder of San Diego, California, Mr. Howard Kugler of Richmond, Mrs. Woodroe Meyer [should be Woodrow Moyer] of Blackwell, Oklahoma and one great grandchild, Connie Sue Mallee of Independence, Mo. Funeral services were held Friday November 21, at the Methodist Church with the Rev. Eugene Trice officiating.
