Carroll County, Missouri Obituary - Georgia Schroeder d. November 9, 1911 Transcription of original newspaper obituary From the Norborne Leader, Thursday, November 16, 1911 Submitted by Robert Schroeder 29 Dec 2008 Mrs. (Georgia) Teadeau Schroeder "At Rest" Funeral services over the death of Mrs. Teadeau Schroeder, wife of Christian Schroeder, who died at her home in this city, Thursday morning, Nov. 9, were held at the home Saturday morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Buchler, of Mayview, Mo. The body was then taken to Fairhaven, where interment was made. Mrs. Schroeder came to this country from Hanover, Germany, where she was born in 1839. Her parents settled on a farm in Breese, Ill., and on the 6th of March 1863, she was married to Christian Schroeder, who with three sons, Gus, John and Theodore survive her. Mrs. Schroeder was 72 years, seven months and 11 days old. She was the best kind of a Christian woman and her kindly nature won for her a home in the hearts of all. From "Local and Personal" column adjacent to above obituary: Theo Schroeder, of Clark, Mo, attended his mother's funeral, returning home Sunday. Fred Theener, and Mrs. Fred Unicoher [Unnewehr], both of Harrisonville, attended the funeral of Mrs. Schroeder, Saturday. Note: Georgia’s surname is spelled "Tiedau" in her obituary and in most census records. Also note that son John was born Henry Christian Schroeder; he variously went by "John" and "Christian". He was baptized Hein rich Johann Christian, and thus alternated between these given names. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Robert Schroeder USGENWEB NOTICE All documents placed in the USGenWeb Archives remain the property of the contributors, who retain publication rights in accordance with US Copyright Laws and Regulations.
